Cu–Sn alloy catalyst can regulate CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) intermediates. However, previous Cu–Sn alloy catalysts were limited in phase control. Here, we report thermodynamic based Cu–Sn bimetallic phase control and selective CO2RR.
